Tattoos Don't Have To Be For Life
Whether your tattoo no longer reflects who you are, has faded unevenly or simply
did not turn out as expected, laser tattoo removal can help to significantly fade
or remove unwanted ink safely and effectively.
At M&M Aesthetics and Skincare, every treatment begins with a consultation so we
can assess your tattoo, discuss the results you would like to achieve
and create a treatment plan tailored to you.
Laser tattoo removal offers a safe and effective way to fade or remove tattoos you no longer want, whether you are looking for a fresh start or preparing the area for a new design. Our advanced laser technology delivers precise pulses of light into the tattoo pigment, breaking the ink into tiny particles that your body can gradually clear through its natural processes. Treatment can be tailored to tattoos of different colours, sizes and depths while minimising the risk of damage to the surrounding skin.

During your appointment, the laser is carefully passed over the tattoo. Most clients describe the sensation as similar to the quick snap of an elastic band and often find it more manageable than having the original tattoo.
Removal is a gradual process, with most people requiring approximately 6 to 12 sessions spaced several weeks apart.
The number of treatments needed will depend on factors including the colours used, the age and depth of the tattoo, your skin tone and how your body responds.
A consultation will allow us to assess your tattoo and create a personalised treatment plan for you.

How many treatments will I need?
Every tattoo is different, so the number of sessions required will depend on factors such as its age, size and location, as well as the colours and density of the ink. Amateur tattoos can sometimes fade within 1 to 6 treatments, while professional tattoos may require additional sessions. At M&M Aesthetics, we will assess your tattoo during your consultation and recommend a personalised treatment plan. Sessions are usually spaced 6 to 10 weeks apart to give your skin time to heal and your body time to naturally clear the fragmented ink.
How will my skin look after treatment?
Immediately after treatment, the area may appear temporarily white or frosted, but this usually fades quickly. Your skin may feel tender for a few hours, with some redness and swelling lasting up to 48 hours. Occasionally, a light graze or crust may develop, which should be left to heal naturally.
You may not notice an immediate change in the tattoo itself. The ink will gradually fade over the following 4 to 8 weeks as your body naturally clears the fragmented pigment.
Are there any possible side effects?
Side effects are generally mild and temporary. In rare cases, the treated skin may become slightly lighter or darker, or a small blister may develop. Changes to the skin’s texture or scarring are uncommon, particularly when the area is cared for correctly and any grazing or crusting is allowed to heal naturally.
The treated area may also temporarily lose some of its natural ability to tan, although this usually improves over time. At M&M Aesthetics, we will explain the correct aftercare and answer any questions before your treatment.
